New computers are good but so what if you are still losing money each week. Technology should be part of the solution not the sole solution. Yes cleaning up the store, opening the aisles, presentation and customer retention are some of the more pressing issues for Polka Dot.If this show is just to throw money at a failing business for the sake of enteratainment and then to walk away and leave the owners to their devices then why would Dell even sponsor the show. The reality is when will Stephanie start to run Polka Dot like a business and not like an after thought.

Unlike Brian, I agree that being in business is devloping a strategy to remain in business. You might note that this show is on A&E, not MSNBC or Fox Money Channel. That doesn't shield the show from criticism, but it never figures into your self-righteous rant that the show might just be almost as much about entertainment than small business advice. If they wanted to go in and smack the owners over the head with a diploma from Harvard School of Business, it would be called "We Mean Bad Television."I happened to find the tech woman somewhat charming, much less stuffy than the usual pocket protector, self-important IT drones that usually troll the airwaves. As for being a shill for Dell, uh..yeah, isn't that the business model for television? The whole point of the show is to throw capital at some failing small businesses and record the emotional drama (embellished or not) that unfolds as some television personalities and creative editing weave a story that hold your attention better than 10 min of "organizing inventory by category."The internet is definitely the place for e-tigers like yourself. Grrrr

While you seem to know your stuff, you come off just as obnoxious as the protagonists you chastise for 3 pages.
